In response to a not-so-shiny article in Washington Post regarding Invisible Children and KONY 2012, director Jon Turteltaub wrote the following response to the author/interviewer & interviewee:
My name is Jon Turteltaub. I have directed several movies…
It has been far too long since i’ve been on tumblr, which is good because from what i hear it’s been making alot of people procrastinate their homework or even studying for FINALS.
When we think procrastination, we think homework, we think studying, we think all things work in general.
But what about your faith?
When people procrastinate, they always say, “Oh i’ll wait until the deadline draws near.” or “i got time.”
But as Christians we simply cannot afford to think like this, because for us, the deadline could be any day, any minute, any second. And the truth really is that we don’t have time.
In Romans Paul pleads us to not conform to the world, but we as believers have adapted this idea of laziness into our faith.
We say, “I have all my life to get closer to God, I just want to have fun right now.” We all know that when we procrastinate our homework or studying, we essentially get screwed. We can’t live our lives as if we’re in some intermission period. If you’re not going to pray privately today, chances are you won’t in the future. You can’t shove God into your backpack and say you’ll talk to him later.
God is happening now.
His Kingdom is coming.
Your love is amazing,
steady and unchanging.
Your love is a mountain firm beneath my feet.
Your love is a mystery, how you gently lift me.
When i am surrounded, Your love carries me.
Your love is surprising, i can feel it rising.
All the joy that’s growing, deep inside of me
Everytime i see You, all your goodness shines through
And i can feel this God song rising up in me.
Hallelujah
you stay humble.
Never forget Who has blessed you, and why.
What a great question, let’s confront that question.
Exactly why does God bless us?
Do you think it’s because we deserve it? Certainly not, because in truth we are the most undeserving of anything, especially a blessing.
It is by His grace that we are saved, and it is by His grace that we are blessed.
It is by mercy that he hears our cries and prayers and petitions.
So in the end, we are blessed because of who HE is.
Let’s remember that, and to live the most humble grateful lives that glorify His name to the absolute fullest.
It is He who has redeemed my friends
HE>i
Yours for the taking.
Simplify me and glorify Yourself through me Lord,
